In Tacoma, Washington, in the Pacific Northwest of the United States. It is the place where Robin Hobb lives..... um no, she doesn't live IN this forest.... she lives somewhere nearby. This is the kind of forest I grew up visiting. So whenever a story had a forest in it, this is the type of place I imagined. Rian and Narrisch and I went there after having lunch with Robin.
