Measure Thrice, Cut Once
The door does not fit.
The door does not fit.
The door does not fit.
Ah, well. Ye win some, ye lose some. In a big ugly snarling way.
The door does not fit.
Rian knew we would have to shave some off length wise, but I did not figure for width. Afterall, surely all the doors in this house are the same width? Surely? SURELY.
The door does not fit.
Well. Back to the drawing board. Or the salvage yard, as the case may be.
Any creature want a door?

How much too big is it? Too much to plane?
Too big is not a problem, plane, saw, sand. Too small is a problem. Which is it?
Too big.
By...eh...half a foot.
says Rian, sheepishly.
Plane that much off and the panels look lopsided.
Take an axe to the door frame. After that much work, that sucker needs to hang in your house.
6" too big?
*laughs*
That is going to take some sanding!
If you do cut or sand, make sure it's off the hinge side...
Can't you cut from both sides so it's not lopsided?
Unfortunately for Rian, ye canna cut into the non hinge side without ruining the mortise.
And stop laughing, indylove.
Rian measured it LENGTH wise. LENGTH wise. It should have been the same width wise.
*straight faced*
Because length is more important than width.
Indylove! Shame!
Would Rian swap a door for a Hills Hoist? If it could be disguised as a package of books?
Sigh... no-one wants this dratted clothesline.
