Well, I don't think that everyone is honest all the time. I know I do sneaky things like add a little more vodka into my drink when it comes to knock-offs and things like that.
In relationships... Well. You make the choice, don't you? Are you going to be commited, or are you going to cheat? You could probably get away with cheating if you were sneaky, but... It's up to you to define yourself.
Brain not working. Will be more intelligent tomorrow. *g*
I don't cheat at things because, to my mind, that totally ruins the whole point of whatever it is you're doing. If it's a test or exam, you want to know how well you can actually do, not how well you can pretend to have done. If it's a game - well the whole point of playing is the fun of the game. Cheating would ruin that.
As for other things... well, cheating just isn't me. I'm painfully honest. If I undermine my own honesty, I destroy my principles and no longer have a guideline by which to measure myself. Being true to yourself and your principles is a deeply important thing, I believe.
hmmm, for me, I don't cheat on little things because I am doing them for the process, I want to know how I am doing, want to see chance play its part. I don't play games to win them, nor did I take classes to get grades. I have cheated, in desperation, when I felt I had no other choice, I felt frustrated that it came to that.
The situations in which I cheated, memorizing equations or the spelling of words. I could not do it. I understood processes and meanings, but was in danger of failing due to inability to memorize. I figured out a way to cheat so that I'd have the correct letter order in the word, the correct letters in the formula. I had LEARNED the material, could apply the equations define the words, yet could not pass the tests without cheating. It was a bad time in my life.
Never wanted to cheat in games, or cheat for an A instead of the B I'd earned. I like knowledge and the truth.

Cheating how? In schoolwork or in relationships? Are you asking what makes an honest creature honest?

Pride.
Rian was not so much thinking of cheating on a person. That, to my mind, is BETRAYAL.
I was thinking of small things.
And I think jes might be correct. It is pride.
