Painless
Rian dreampt last night that I was being slowly flayed alive. There was not pain, but a simple stretching and pulling sensation as skin parted from bone and muscle. I remember being alarmed. And knowing that this was not a Good Thing.

I have dreamed of someone else having the skin and muscle torn off his bones... it was quite cool. He was a walking skeleton afterwards (though how he could walk without muscles, I don't know).

Yup - I often felt like I was being skinned alive while reading GRRM. Esp. after the first couple thousand pages, at which time I wanted to rip my eyeballs out and yet - couldn't - stop.
