Ohhh...my mum had an old typewriter. Probably still does, knowing us. I loved playing with it as a kid. So much fun to see the levers clunking up and down...and to see if you can get them to catch on each other...
Have you taught Aidan the joys of Tipp-Ex papers for mechanical typewriters?
Can't you just put tip-ex on the paper and type over it? That's what I used to do... I think my typed pages were more tip-ex than paper by the end of it. Not because I would make mistakes of course but because I liked the smell of the tip-ex.
Oh, you could just paint tipp-ex on the page...but the little papers are so much more fun. (And no, Sky, not the ribbons - the even more archaic way of doing it, just holding a little piece of greaseproof-style paper coated in tipp-ex in front of the paper.) You have to find a part of the paper that hasn't already been used, and then make sure you hit the correct letter, and then hope that the paper in the typewriter is still in exactly the same place...so much more joy to be had.
Personally I am more a fan of the smell of Snopake. Tipp-Ex isn't quite the same.

Oh, he is so cute. I can't wait to have him as a son-in-law.

Tipp-Ex papers?
Aka White Out. You know - the erasing ribbons that you put in typewriters if you make a mistake.
I love the sound of a typewriter.

Rian, you're not allowed to rope your offspring into typing your Nanowrimo novel for you, so don't bother training him.
You'd be better off enslaving a leprechaun.

So we have Tippex sniffers among us, eh? *raises eyebrow*
Yuck. I hate the stench of that stuff.
And yes, Skit... that is exceedingly archaic!
" Aka White Out."
Ha- I love the idea of being able to type spoilers with a typewriter...
