Hmmmm, not always diligent, that warder. My brain often escapes custody and goes on the lam.

I looked up the extended quote to see if that would help me make more sense of it ...

I see what is meant ... but my brain keeps whispering to me that i should read it in reverse; that the brain is the warder of memory.
