Speaking of...
There is a Wraeththu in Rian's pottery class. It sat behind Rian and every once in two whiles Rian would sneak a glance under elbow and wonder WHY DOES THAT CREATURE LOOK SO FAMILIAR?
It came to Rian last night: I had met it in books. Long, wirey, incredibly thin and permanently young. It wore dreadlocks to shoulder length, and each dread was fastened with either beads or glistening rings. A gem in the nose. Silk African bands about the bare upper arms. Black rubber and red string and a bracelet with dangling 'K' beads about the wrists. A ceramic pendant hanging on a satin ribbon from the throat.
It wore a thin sleeveless shirt and baggy trousers and slouched through the class.
Later, after pleasant small talk, Rian learned that the Wraeththu also works at Rian's favorite Rockwood bakery. Rian wonders if it gives away free pumpkin pie?

*breathes deep* Perhaps there is a whole party of them, all artfulfy languid and sensual. Fantastic.
Shall Rian try to capture it for ye, jesic?
Mmm, I can just imagine you wrapping ribbon around his wrists and leading him away.
Now Rian is thinking of Phedre from the Kushiel series...
...and giant diamonds...
says Rian, straight faced.
