Quest

Fifty points to any creature who can discover for Rian what hiqureimasu might mean or refer to.

Rian has tried already and failed.

But there are better souls than I about.

if it is transliterated and is the same as hikari masu it is Japanese and may mean something like more pure bright light.

hiqurei masu does indeed sound like mis-transliterated Japanese. 'Q' is not used in Romajii, only 'k'.

But "hikari" and "hikure" and "hikurei" are not the same things. Vowels in Japanese are precise things, unlike English.

My dictionary has higure, which means nightfall or sunset. I don't think a noun makes much sense together with masu, though.

Hiku as a verb can be a crazy number of things: draw curtains, pull rope, draw lots, consult dictionary, draw lines, attract attention, subtract, deduct, lower a price, play a stringed instrument, run over something with a car, oy!

Is Keppet still in Japan?
